The funeral services of Thomas Robinson were conducted Thursday at the home of his son on south Washington Street, Rev HA Tucker of the Methodist church officiating. The remains were taken to Greencastle for interment by the side of his wife. The deceased as known as "Grandpa Robinson" and everyone especially the children will miss him.
Thomas Robinson died Tuesday at the home of his son, Geo. E. Ronbinson on south Washington Street. About two weeks ago Mr. Robinson took a severe cold and this developed into the grip, causing death. The funeral was held at 12:30 o’clock a.m. Thursday at the residence and the remains were taken to Greencastle for interment. Thomas Robinson was born in Shelby Co KY Nov 11, 1811. In 1854 he was married to Miss Eliza Ann Talbot and two years later they came to Indiana, settling at Greencastle. They resided there until the death of Mrs. Robinson in 1881, when Mr. Robinson came to this city to live with his son. Mr. Robinson was a member of the first board of trustees of Asbury (DePauw) University and served as Secretary for a number of years. While residing in this city he has made many friends who will be surprised and grieved to learn of his death. - kbz
